Open Late

Experience the Northern Lights, star-filled skies, and skiing under the moonlight. We are open until 21:00 every Thursday from 26 February to 6 April.

Evenings at the Summit

Gaustatoppen (1,883 metres above sea level) is Telemark’s highest mountain and one of Southern Norway’s most iconic viewpoints. With extended evening hours on the Gaustabanen, it’s easy to reach the summit even after regular opening hours.

In the evening, you can experience the sunset from the mountain and enjoy excellent conditions for stargazing, thanks to the high altitude, panoramic views, and minimal light pollution. On clear nights, there are great opportunities to see the night sky and the Milky Way. In winter, your visit can be combined with evening skiing under the moonlight.
