Want to be among the first at the summit? On Good Friday and Easter Saturday, we offer early morning departures and serve coffee. At the top, the DNT cabin offers a breakfast buffet.
On Good Friday and Easter Saturday, we open for skiing for early birds. This is your chance to experience a truly special morning ski tour – before the rest of the world has woken up.
Skiing at dawn offers a शांत and atmospheric setting. The mountain landscape is still, the air is crisp and fresh, and you’ll have the mountain almost to yourself. The open slopes and natural lines stand out clearly in the soft morning light, creating a unique start to the day.
Gaustabanen marks a recommended, avalanche-safe route from the summit. The marked trail is a moderately steep, ungroomed descent running from Tuddalstippen down to the Gaustabanen entrance.
The descent is 2.4 kilometers long, with a maximum gradient of just under 30 degrees, making it suitable for moderately experienced skiers of all ages. As the route runs from tunnel entrance to tunnel entrance, getting back up is just as easy as going down. This is a fantastic opportunity for a safe and memorable summit-to-base experience in the morning light.
Please note that there is a high risk of avalanches outside the recommended route on Gaustatoppen.
All travel and skiing is at your own risk.
