From time to time, Gaustabanen offers evening openings, giving you the opportunity to experience unique evening skiing at sunset, by headlamp or in the moonlight.
In connection with evening openings at Gaustatoppen, you can experience skiing in the evening, at sunset and in the dark from the summit. The moon lights the way, allowing you to switch off your headlamp on several evenings throughout the winter and spring.
Gaustabanen marks a recommended, avalanche-safe route from the summit. The marked trail is a moderately steep, ungroomed slope that runs from Tuddalstippen down to the Gaustabanen entrance.
The descent is 2.4 kilometers long, with a maximum gradient of just under 30 degrees, making it suitable for moderately experienced skiers of all ages. As the route runs from tunnel entrance to tunnel entrance, getting back up is just as easy as going down. This is a fantastic opportunity for a unique summit experience.
There is a high risk of avalanches outside the recommended route on Gaustatoppen.
All travel and skiing is at your own risk.
