Gaustatoppen stands as Telemark's highest peak, offering views over one sixth of Norway. On this day we fill the mountain with the true spirit of 17 May – with a parade, speeches, poetry and festive food. Up here, you really feel how beautiful this country is.
Parade to the summit
Take Gaustabanen up to the top, or join the procession on skis or snowshoes from Svineroi. Speeches and singing at the summit at 14:00.
Food with a view
At the Turisthytte we keep the traditions alive – serving traditional sour cream porridge with cured ham, hot dogs, toast, waffles, homemade cakes, hot chocolate, coffee and cold drinks. Enjoy great food and great company, with panoramic views over the Norwegian landscape.
