The Norseman Xtreme Triathlon is known as one of the world’s most demanding triathlon events, attracting athletes from across the globe who want to test their absolute limits. The race begins in the cold waters of the Hardangerfjord with a 3.8 km swim, before the participants set out on a 180 km cycling stage across the Hardangervidda mountain plateau—often in rapidly changing and challenging weather conditions.
The finale is legendary: a marathon that finishes at the summit of Gaustatoppen, 1,883 metres above sea level. Here, the iconic “black T-shirt” finish awaits—a goal that only the leading athletes are given the opportunity to pursue.
